Samsung Brings One UI 4.1 to More Devices
By Mike V.

Samsung seems to be making good on its promise to keep its devices up-to-date with regular OS and security software updates, with the South Korean brand adding a new batch of devices to its One UI 4.1 update list. The devices scheduled to receive the update are the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (4G), Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, and the Galaxy A71 5G, based on a recent report from XDA Developers.

While the Galaxy S20 FE update will be for all Exynos and Snapdragon 4G variants, the other devices will get updates based on their respective regions. For example, the Galaxy A52s 5G will get the One UI 4.1 update in Europe and South Korea first, with other regions to follow soon. Likewise, the Galaxy A71 5G will also get the One UI 4.1 update for UAE and South Korea first. The new One UI 4.1 update will bring security patches, as well as features from Android 12, and Samsung-centric software features.

The Samsung Galaxy “FE” and “A” series primarily fall into the company’s more affordable smartphone offerings, with the FE phones offering slightly better specs and build quality closer to the Galaxy S flagships. The A phones on the other hand are strictly mid-range devices, often with polycarbonate builds and less powerful chipsets and internal specs.

Among Samsung’s latest A-series smartphones are the Samsung Galaxy A53 which will launch on April 1, and the Galaxy A33 which will launch later on April 22. Meanwhile, the company’s most recent FE-series device is the Galaxy S21 FE, which was launched back in January this year. Along with the Galaxy S22 flagships, Samsung promises more software updates for its Android phones, with up to four years of Android OS upgrades, and five years of software support. However, there’s been no news yet regarding software updates for the company’s lower-end devices.
